Jameson Pressley, a graduate student from Montevallo University, presented “Vulcan: A Symbol of Birmingham’s Industrial Epoch.”

Jame brought along his own cheering section of fellow students.




Jame had a very appreciative audience of MHAers.

PRESENTATION OF AWARDS


Ron Brown is presented the Rodman Paul Award by Jay Fell, MHA Treasurer.


Stephanie Saager-Bourrete receives the John Townley Award from Mining History Journal Editor, Eric Clements.

Jennifer Dunn was Awarded an MHA Research Grant from Erik Nordberg, Past President of MHA, BUT….

Jen did not receive her check until she had presented her paper “Failure to Protect: Asbestos Contamination from the Vermiculate Mine in Libby, MT.”  Nice job, Jen.

 

Rich Skovlin received the Beselme-Orrell Heritage Award on behalf of Breckenridge History from Erik Nordberg at the Saturday morning session.
