    (Left) Mount Moriah Cemetery, AKA Boot Hill, is located a short distance from downtown and the route of the Walking Tour but it is a “must see” attraction.  It is worth the hike to see the graves of…

     

    (Above and Below) …Deadwood’s two most famous non-mining residents, Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane.



    Potato Creek Johnny (John E. Perrett), a Welsh immigrant, came to Deadwood after the main gold rush was over; however, his claim on Potato Creek made him famous.  He discovered a 7.75 troy ounce nugget, one of the largest ever found in the Black Hills.

     


    Just a block from the HARCC, the Adams House Museum is located on Van Buren Street.  Built in 1892, this beautiful Victorian mansion is well worth a visit.
