Potato Creek Johnny (John E. Perrett), a Welsh immigrant, came to Deadwood after the main gold rush was over; however, his claim on Potato Creek made him famous.He discovered a 7.75 troy ounce nugget, one of the largest ever found in the Black Hills.
Just a block from the HARCC, the Adams House Museum is located on Van Buren Street.Built in 1892, this beautiful Victorian mansion is well worth a visit.
