Bucyrus 120B Electric Shovel, 4 cubic yard capacity.

Atlantic Steam Shovel used in early open pit mining, ca. 1910.  Only six of these models were built.

Steam locomotive from the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railroad (DMIR), ca. 1907.  It pulled trains of loaded cars to the ore docks in Duluth.

Ore cars were designed to match the size of the ore pockets in the Duluth ore docks.  Cars were sampled and assayed to formulate cargoes for the ore boats.

An early 70 ton side-dump Euclid haul truck used in the taconite mines.  This one came from the Reserve Mining Company, Peter Mitchell Mine in Babbitt, MN.

This huge 1904 steam-driven pump was used to remove water from the Monroe Mine in Chisholm.  The mine served as the town water supply.

A huge core of greenstone from the Zenith Mine in Ely, Minnesota.  It was collected with a 5.5 foot diameter shot drill in 1938.

The Bruce Mine headframe is located along the Mesabi Trail not far from the Minnesota Museum of Mining.
