The annual MHA Awards Banquet is all about good food, good friends, and fun…

But first, let’s stop the “chow line” and attend to a little business.

Chris Huggard, 2022-2023 MHA President, welcomes everyone to the Awards Banquet and introduces the evening’s featured speaker, Rick Hendricks.

Rick Hendricks, Director of the New Mexico Archives and former State Historian, presented “A Glimpse of Mining History in Spanish and Mexican New Mexico: No Really.”

Brian Leech, MHA Secretary and Chair of the Research Grants Committee,  announces the 2023-2023 Research Grant recipients.

Eric Clements, Editor of the Mining History Journal, announces the 2022-2023 recipient of the John Townley Award.

Ron Brown (left), Book Award Committee Chair, presents a special recognition award to Rudy Davison for his book, “Rudy’s View, A Driving Guide from Telluride to the Top of Imogene Pass.”

Johnny Johnsson (left), Rodman Paul Award Committee Chair, presents the 2023 Award to Bill Culver “For Outstanding Contributions to Mining History.”

Let’s not forget the spouses and partners who support all that mining history research!
